Google ออก Chrome 4.1.249.1036 for Windows ซึ่งถือเป็น Stable Update รีลีสที่ 3 ของเมเจอร์เวอร์ชัน Chrome 4.1 โดยเวอร์ชันใหม่ล่าสุดนี้ออกเมื่อวันที่ 17 มีนาคม 2553 มีการแก้ไขปัญหาเรื่องความปลอดภัยต่างๆ (Security Fixes) ที่พบในเวอร์ชัน 4.0.249.89 ตามรายละเอียดด้านล่าง
คุณสมบัติใหม่ใน Google Chrome 4.1.249.1036
ใน Google Chrome 4.1.249.1036 มีการเพิ่มคุณสมบัติใหม่ (นับจากเวอร์ชัน 3.0) ดังต่อไปนี้
• Extensions
• Bookmark sync
• Enhanced developer tools
• HTML5: Notifications, Web Database, Local Storage, WebSockets, Ruby support
• v8 performance improvements
• Skia performance improvements
• Full ACID3 pass, due to re-enabled remote font support (with added defense against bugs in operating system font libraries)
• HTTP byte range support
• New security feature: "Strict Transport Security" support
• Experimental new anti-reflected-XSS feature called "XSS Auditor"

การดาวน์โหลดและการติดตั้ง Google Chrome 4.1.249.1036
Google Chrome 4.1.249.1036 นั้นสามารถทำงานได้บน Window XP, Windows Vista และ Windows 7 โดยวิธีการติดตั้งนั้น โดยทั่วไปสามารถแบ่งออกได้เป็น 3 กรณี ดังต่อไปนี้
Google Chrome 4.1.249.1036 Stable Update
กรณีที่ 1 ยังไม่มีการติดตั้ง Google Chrome อยู่บนเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ สามารถติดตั้งโปรแกรม Google Chrome จากอินเทอร์เน็ตผ่านทางบราวเซอร์ โดยเปิดไปที่เว็บไซต์ www.google.com/chrome จากนั้นดำเนินการคำสั่งบนจอภาพ
กรณีที่ 2 ยังไม่มีการติดตั้ง Google Chrome อยู่บนเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ สามารถดาวน์โหลดโปรแกรมติดตั้ง Google Chrome จากเว็บไซต์ Download Google Chrome 4.1.249.1036 มาทำการติดตั้งด้วยตนเอง
กรณีที่ 3 มีการติดตั้ง Google Chrome เวอร์ชัน 4.0.249.89 หรือ เวอร์ชันก่อนหน้าบนเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์อยู่ก่อนแล้ว สามารถทำการอัพเดทเป็นเวอร์ชัน 4.1.249.1036 ได้ตามขั้นตอนดังนี้
1. เปิดโปรแกรม Google Chrome จากนั้นคลิกที่ไอคอนรูปเครื่องมือ แล้วเลือกคำสั่ง About Google Chrome

2. ในหน้าไดอะล็อกบ็อกซ์ About Google Chrome ให้คลิก Update Now แล้วรอจนโปรแกรมทำการติดตั้งแล้วเสร็จ
3. ในหน้าไดอะล็อกบ็อกซ์ Please close all Chrome windows and restart Chrome for this change to take effect ให้คลิก OK
4. ในหน้าไดอะล็อกบ็อกซ์ About Google Chrome ให้คลิก OK อีกครั้ง
5. ทำการรีสตาร์ทโปรแกรม Google Chrome เพื่อให้การเปลี่ยนแปลงมีผล
